Elf Costume

This is the costume I made for myself, Halloween 2003. I wasn't too creative with the costume itself. I just used a bought pattern. The only customizing I did was on the ears. They didn’t fit well the way they came. I think they were too big and just generally didn’t look right. I cut them to fit the way I wanted and painted them with acrylic paint to match my skin color better. I was going to put some extensions in my hair, but the temporary way of attaching them I came up with kept falling out & I didn’t feel like paying a beautician just to have my hair extremely long for one day. Though I think that would have looked really cool if I had pulled it off. Oh well...

The images here were edited slightly to ‘freshen up’ my makeup. I had been wearing the costume all day at work & didn’t think to touch it up before these pictures were taken.

The only thing I wish is that I knew the finished under dress of the costume would be big enough for a full family of midgets to go camping in. Once I bunched it up to fit it made me look kind of fat... or at least fatter that I was. Other than that I think it tuned out pretty good..

To the right is a full lenght view of the costume.
