This is a picture of an Angel that I drew on 9/10/01. It was a sad time for me. My father-in-law was dying from cancer and it was very near the end for him. We were at his house basically waiting for him to pass away, which I think is an awful thing for anyone to have to do. I would have preferred he had a heart attack and got it over quickly.... Anyway... I was up one night REAL LATE and I just drew this. I'm not very religious or nothing, but the others were & I kind found the notion that there might be an angel out there waiting to take him to heaven was a nice thought.

I drew this completely using a small box of Crayola pencils and a sketch pad that I had bought at Wal-Mart earlier that day. Unfortunately the paper was really porous and the picture scanned in kind of crappy. I touched it up a bit in Photoshop, but really couldn't do much with it without it looking worse. I'm not sure if I like the way I did her hair on the left side, that one big wave is a bit too big. Otherwise I think it came out pretty good.

Though looking at this picture now makes me sad, I think it will always be special to me.

I hope that you're angel came to guide you, Wilbur, and take you to a better place....
