Fate's Eyes

This is a picture I did after reading a Harry Potter fan story called Fate's Eyes. (Click here to go read it.) It is a scene from the first chapter.

Harry & Ambar were drawn digitally 1/2/05. The background is a photo manipulation of several pictures put together then edited. I used this project as a challenge to myself to see just how quickly I could get something done. I sketched out the picture of Harry and Ambar during my lunch break. The rest was colored/compiled over the following weekend. At the time I thought it looked great, but later thought it needed a bit more work. I felt it needed a lighting change, some additional shading, and a bit more work on the background.

The version at the top of the page is an edit finished 2/12/05. I changed the lighting and added some shading to make it a bit more dramatic. After REALLY looking at the picture I felt that his uniform ‘gown’ (I *think* that’s what it’s called anyway ^_~) looked like there was a stiff breeze blowing it.... which wouldn’t be there if he’s inside a building. So... I changed it. I was trying for an ‘I just rushed up and suddenly stopped’ kind of look. I hope the updated version reflects this better. It probably still could use some more work... but I can live with this version, so I’ll stop here for now.

The author had requested a banner for her story and below is my attempt at it. It is basically the above picture (Which I did primarily for use in it.) and even more pictures digitally edited together till I got something that I thought looked pretty cool.
